 Jeremy Kolosine Tribute

Jeremy Kolosine, aka Ksine, was born in Hackney, East London, moved to South Florida in the 1970's and is currently living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Jeremy is an electronic artist/producer/gearhead and is founder of electropunk pioneers Futurisk, 8-bit/micro-chipmusic vanguards 8-Bit Operators and electronic guitar band Shakespace. From 2003 thru 2011 he recorded as RECEPTORS.
Exemplifying a longtime experimental hardware electro ideal, Receptors stood equipped with everything from vintage analog synths and treated guitars to lo-bit digital handheld synths (mostly Game Boy & Nintendo DS), occasional circuit-bent devices, and vocoded 12-bit stylophonic walkstations. The debut Receptors 7" EP "Controller Array" was released in 2005.
Receptors performed at NYC's legendary Blip Fest, CMJ and Bent Festivals, showcased at Austin, Texas' SXSW Festival and Iceland's Airwaves Fest, and in 2007 Jeremy Kolosine performed the first ever circuit-bent performance with a full symphony orchestra (The Roanoke Symphony).
That same year the critically acclaimed ReceptorsMusic compilation "8-Bit Operators - The Music of Kraftwerk" was released on Astralwerks/EMI, and The DFA's James Murphy commissioned Receptors to produce a set of unique Real ringtones for LCD Soundsystem's "Sound Of Silver" album release. The ringtunes , which are re-interpretations of all 9 tracks on the hit album, were arranged and created in 8-bit fashion on the gameboy synth.
In 2008 Receptors released 2 albums of tracks produced on the Nintendo DS, including the first full-length release by an artist on the Korg DS-10 titled "groKwork".
In 2009, Jeremy completed construction on "21st Century Retro-Futurists", an ongoing audio/video installation for The Taubman Museum, and joined the Blip Fest Europe/ 8bitpeoples tour of Denmark and Poland (Era New Horizon Film Festival.)
On 09/09/09 the Kolosine-curated 8-Bit Operators' "WANNA HLD YR HANDHELD" Beatles Tribute was released, and is now available at http://8bitops.com/
Receptors closed out 2009 with the release of the "USER Deluxe EP" on the world-renowned chip-music label 8bitpeoples.
In 2010, the 30th Anniversary vinyl 12inch of Futurisk's "PLAYER PIANO LP" was released on Minimal Wave Records, and Receptors' full-length SLEEPER CD was released on the Handheld Heroes label. http://receptorsmusic.com/

On 12/12/2012 Receptors Music Inc released the 8-BIT OPERATORS' DEVO Tribute: Crack That Chip! conceived/ compiled by Kolosine.
In 2013, Jeremy Kolosine was added to Marty Thau's legendary Red Star Records roster of artists (which includes work by Suicide, Blondie, John Cale, The Ramones, Richard Hell, Lola Dutronic and Dub Gabriel among many others.) Exclusive remixes of Futurisk and 8-Bit Operators were included on the "Variations" 2013 Red Star release.
2014 promises an increase in visibility and distribution of Kolosine's Receptors Music Inc label, with the release of 8-Bit Operators' Depeche Mode Tribute, "Enjoy The Science", as well as the anticipated completion of a Jeremy Kolosine solo release.

For the complete recording of the stage, we use the Sony HD CAM. (f: 1:1.6) Since we have a lot of options in low light.
Detail shots we do with the DSLR, (f: 1: 2.8).
Later, when cut, we choose.

Für die Bühne in der Gesamtansicht verwende ich in der Regel die HD CAM Kamera. (f. 1:1,6)
gerade bei diffizilen Lichtverhältnissen bleibt genügend Spielraum.

Weather Report war eine der künstlerisch bedeutendsten und auch kommerziell erfolgreichsten Jazz- und Fusion-Bands in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren, an der sich bis heute viele Musiker verschiedener Stilrichtungen orientieren

Weather Report was an American jazz fusion band of the 1970s and early 1980s. The band was co-led by the Austrian-born keyboard player Joe Zawinul and the American saxophonist Wayne Shorter (and, initially, by Czech bass player Miroslav Vitouš). Other prominent members at various points in the band's lifespan included Jaco Pastorius, Peter Erskine, Alex Acuña , Alphonso Johnson, Victor Bailey, Airto Moreira and Chester Thompson.

 Weather Report sono stati uno dei gruppi jazz fusion più significativi degli anni settanta e ottanta.
La band nacque fra la fine degli anni sessanta e i primi anni settanta da uno spin-off di un gruppo di musicisti che ruotavano intorno a Miles Davis. Il nucleo stabile del gruppo è stato costituito dal pianista Joe Zawinul e dal sassofonista Wayne Shorter, mentre gli altri musicisti variavano quasi ad ogni album.

Weather Report a été l'un des premiers groupes de jazz-rock fusion, et l'un des plus influents.
Il a été formé à New York en 1971 par le claviériste Joe Zawinul et le saxophoniste Wayne Shorter, ainsi que le bassiste et contrebassiste Miroslav Vitouš. Tous deux avaient déjà fait partie de formations avec Miles Davis. Wayne Shorter le premier, au sein du légendaire quintet des années 1960 (avec Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter et Tony Williams). L'influence du Miles Davis période électrique est assez flagrante avec des ambiances ouvertes où l'on retrouve de longues plages d'improvisations sans thème. Des prémices de ces ambiances entre Zawinul et Vitous sont omniprésentes 1 an plus tôt dans l'album "Purple" de Miroslav, avec Cobham et John McLaughlin.

Weather Report fue un grupo de jazz-fusión y/o jazz-rock que estuvo activo entre 1970 y 1985; interesado en general por la fusión, y liderado por Joe Zawinul y Wayne Shorter, anticipó y contribuyó a la apertura musical estadounidense a las músicas del mundo.1
Los miembros originales del grupo fueron, además de Zawinul, el saxofonista Wayne Shorter, el contrabajista y bajista eléctrico Miroslav Vitouš, el percusionista Airto Moreira y el baterista Alphonse Mouzon. Otros músicos que participarían en el proyecto serían el bajista Jaco Pastorius, el baterista Peter Erskine, el bajista Victor Bailey, el baterista Omar Hakim y los percusionistas Dom Um Romão, Alex Acuña, Jose Rossy y Mino Cinelu.


Weather Report foi uma banda estado-unidense de jazz fusion das década de 1970 e 1980. Junto com outros grupos como Return to Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra e The Headhunters), é um dos grande inovadores do jazz fusion de todos os tempos.

LIBRIA is the new project/band born from the mind of Marianna Alfieri (Dark Lunacy, Spectra Paris, Kirlian Camera),  guitarist and composer.

The original idea of LIBRIA was inspired by “Equilibrium”, a Kurt Wimmer’s film (2002). Libria is a city-state based on a strong absolute power, controlling the mind of people by the mean of Prozium, a drug which suppresses emotions. The “peace” and control obtained in this way is not so different from the way our society tries to keep us blind and deaf to the awareness of Truth. Our soul can be rescued by detaching from physical senses, and increasing the power of our mind, with strong discipline and will, without any drugs, just relying on our own mental forces. From these principles and ranging over reflections about death, life, spiritual growing and esoteric studies, the whole concept of Libria was born.

“Look away from the lighthouse, and follow the stars!”

All songs of LIBRIA first full-length album, “Immortal Daughter of Aesthetics”, have been composed and arranged by Marianna Alfieri, who is also the mind of the whole concept, artwork and lyrics.

She recorded the debut album with the collaboration of Fabio Palombi (Nerve, Ritual of Rebirth), who recorded and mixed vocals and drums (played by Massimo Marandino- Nerve, Antropofagus) at his BlackWave Studio (Genova, Italy). Finally, the album has been mastered by Tommy Talamanca (Sadist) at Nadir Music Studios (Genova, Italy).

Marianna could also rely on the collaboration of Francesca Dardani (violinist, graduated in NY, Mannes College and studying at Royal Academy of Music in London) who recorded the whole violin scores, and Elena Alice Fossi (Kirlian Camera, Spectra Paris) and Alessia Cavalieri for additional vocals.

In 2012 Marianna decided to take LIBRIA from a project to a band. She met Gregorio Ferrarese (The Modern Age Slavery), a talented professional drummer, who studied in Italy and USA and graduated in Jazz, and played in many records of various styles of music for many labels and she asked him to join the band. Together with Fabio Palombi and Bernard Boggia (former Dark Lunacy bass player), LIBRIA’s line up got completed.

In winter 2012-2013 LIBRIA signed for WORMHOLEDEATH/DREAMCELL 11 for the publishing and distribution of the first album “Immortal Daughter of Aesthetics”, whose release dateis planned for May 16th 2013.

The album is AVAILABLE NOW, distributed by Aural Music and in digital stores.
